  • I put pen to paper (figuratively) for 8 strait days. It's more than I've accomplished in a long time.

  • The effort jolted a creative streak and I'm happy to say that I'm starting to use that creative side of my brain again.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear By Elizabeth Gilbert

This was one of my 2017 reads and it's one that I bought, re-read, and highlighted in. Elizabeth speaks honestly about the creative process and the practicalities of writing (art, ice skating, etc.) as a money-maker. It was a book that breathed "magic" into the fears I had about my creative life and shouted, "KEEP WRITING!! YOU ARE FINE!" When I needed it most.
