When the kids are bed and the house has gone quiet, I’m writing. I write about my family, my home, my children, books I’ve read… and it’s not that I feel I have something to say, rather I simply want to be in the conversation.

Sore and Tired, Demo Day 4

#husky knee pads for the win!

#husky knee pads for the win!

April 3, It’s been a long time since I’ve done this much physical labor. My hands hurt from using the pry bar, my lower back aches, and I’ve never been so happy to wear something that says HUSKY on it. While I feel as though I’m channeling a look that can only be described as junior high volley ball player, these knee pads have been a life saver.

It’s still sticky but the kitchen floor is finally up and I finally finished getting the tack strip off the floor in the living areas. I have started pulling out the staples from the floor but that is a task thats best done a little at a time. In the latter part of the day we took a little breather to tend to our geriatric boxer, #layladog. She had an inflamed cyst on her foot and needed an antibiotic, she’s well now.

Still sticky, but the old laminate is gone.

At the end of the day, we were fortunate enough to meet (from a distance) some of our new neighbors. I forgot how nice it is to have good neighbors and they are so happy to see our house getting new life after sitting for so long. We’re really looking forward to being apart of this community.
